Came to Michigan for our anniversary and wanted some good prime rib... this place did NOT disappoint! My husband got the house cut and I got barbs cut and a cluster of snow crabs. Meat was so tender, cooked to perfection, and the flavor was out of this world! Service was amazing and the atmosphere was too! Thank you Skips for giving us a perfect anniversary meal, if we’re ever back in the area we will definitely be back!
So its 7:00 on a Sunday night and my wife and I have finally arrived at our B&B. Starving, we scour for places that are still open. We find Skip’s. Ok...lets give it a shot. This place is a hidden gem! One of the best steaks we’ve had in quite a while. Kayla was serving us and couldn’t have been better. Its just low key great food. We ended up sitting with the owner and staff having after dinner drinks.
Very quaint dining room. Service was excellent. The prime rib was so amazing. Will make this a regular visit on our trips to Michigan!
Took my wife there on May 6, for her birthday dinner. I had the prime rib and she had the salmon. Service was fantastic . Our server, Erica H. was very attentive. Our food was perfectly prepared. I can still taste that tender prime rib and the garlic mashed potatoes; and the whipped butter on fresh bread was great. Highly recommend this place.
Great place that serves great food. The prime rib hit the spot. The loaded baked potato was not all that good.
Skip's is the THE PLACE for prime rib and steak...we always eat at Skip's when we travel in to the New buffalo area because we know we will have a very fine dining experience, and this last trip was no exception, and it's all served by an excellent waitstaff, like our most current waitress Morgan who was very attentive to all our needs. Below is a pic of my prime rib...a cut called "Barb's Cut" which isn't even the largest on the menu...but 16 ounces of this pure delight was enough for me!
Skip's, a decades old gastronomic favorite tradition, looms like a temple of indulgence for the famished and the brave. This isn't a restaurant; it's a feast for the senses, a Dionysian celebration of excess where the portions are as generous as the tales of a seasoned fisherman. The prime rib, oh the prime rib! It's not just meat; it's a carnivorous epiphany, cooked to such perfection it could make a grown man weep with joy. Each bite, a transcendental experience, a journey to the zenith of beef mastery. Servers glide through the chaos with the grace of ballet dancers, their politeness a soothing balm in the frenetic temple of feasting, guiding you through a culinary odyssey. Pricey? Sure, in the same way that a Picasso is just a painting. But worth every penny? Absolutely. It's like investing in a stock that only goes up. In the grand casino of dining, Skip's is the high roller's table, where the stakes are high, and the rewards are unparalleled. Dining here isn't just eating; it's an act of hedonistic rebellion against the ordinary, a plunge into a world where flavor reigns supreme.
The food was great and the service by Paige was great. Friendly atmosphere and good prices for the quality. We will be back. Kelly got prime rib and I got the burger in photo that I could not finish.
